Based in Plymouth, UK, electroacoustic composer Neil Rose teams up with independent record label onec to bring about the apocalypse. Stepping out of his usual concrete mode of practice Neil Rose delivers a concept album that is absorbed and intertwined with the dark and twisted work of H.P. Lovecraft, producing a double A side album called "Wilbur Whateley / Psychopomps". The album fully deploys Neil Rose's considerable skill at effortlessly interweaving concrete sound sources, the spoken word and awkward polyrhythmic beat material. It is dark and brooding and frequently difficult listening, that at times yields results no recording should produce, and yet retains a danceable sensibility. The album will be issued as a limited edition of 250 copies only and comes in a gatefold sleeve and 180g black vinyl.
