Back in April 2003, four friends from Deptford in South East London released their debut album, 'Vehicles & Animals', to critical acclaim. Citing influences such as Grandaddy, The Flaming Lips and Blur, Athlete created a summery, upbeat, quirky indie-pop record full of sing-along choruses that remain firm fan favourites a decade on. A Mercury Music Prize nomination spurred sales of 'Vehicles & Animals' on and it went from silver to gold within two weeks and has long since surpassed platinum status.
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of 'Vehicles & Animals' the band set out on a short UK tour in May 2013. They played the album in full and in order and this album was recorded at some of the shows on that tour.
