Swan [15.04]
Munras, Pearl and Tyler (an extract read by Zina Rohan) [12.26]
Swan is a poetic monologue that is as at home on the page as it is on the stage. It is Jan Noble's most important piece to date. It establishes him as a significant new voice in English writing. Delivered with visceral intensity it has already stopped the show at rock gigs in pubs and poetry festival auditoriums.
Jan Noble has taught creative writing in prisons and on psychiatric wards. He has performed at venues across Europe and been broadcast on Channel 4 and BBC Radio. His work has been set to music, principally by the composer Donna McKevitt, and has been recorded by producer Craig Leon at Abbey Road studios. He was poet in residence at the East End Film Festival and selected to attend the Myriam Blundell Projects Willums Art Foundation.
