Emerging Isle of Wight four-piece Coach Party have today revealed their new single & animated video ‘Space’ on Chess Club Records. Coach Party have also announced they will release their debut EP Party Foodon 12 June via Chess Club.
The band have released just two singles prior to ‘Space’, punchy late-2019 introduction ‘Oh Lola’ and recent release ‘Breakdown’, which added a new and fuller dimension to Coach Party’s instantly accessible indie sound. The two tracks drew acclaim everywhere from BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders, Annie Mac and Clara Amfo to online tastemakers The Line Of Best Fit and CLASH to national newspapers such as the i.
‘Space’ is set to crank things up another notch. Speaking about the track, Coach Party’s lead vocalist and bassist Jess Eastwood said, “Space is about the emotion of putting your feelings on the line and how tormenting someone can be when you break up. The control someone has over you when they know something you don’t want others to know.” The accompanying video is animated by the band’s friend Cam Guy as Eastwood continues: “We wanted the video for Space to distract from the seriously dark tones of the song with a cartoon about a load of animals on a distant planet. Cam gives an insight into how a dog army and cat army would fight over a new planet, before coming together thanks to a common enemy.”
The 6-track Party FoodEP was produced by the band’s own Guy Page and continues their association with Chess Club - a label famed for breaking new talent, where recent signings include Alfie Templeman and Phoebe Green, and past successes include Jungle and Wolf Alice.
