Only One Key is a break-up song, in less than two minutes, with a Country/Rockabilly sound. When a couple have been dating for a while, they may feel it's time to exchange keys to their homes, but relationships don't always go to plan, and when it ends, the time comes when they basically give back the keys. Where there were two keys on the keyring, there is now only one, the dream is over, no wedding bells, and just two lonely people, back on the dating scene.
