Since the release of last year's storming debut single 'When You're Gone', London rockers METRO RIOTS have been locked away in the studio with multi-million selling producer Pedro Ferreira to record their stunning debut LP, NIGHT TIME ANGEL CANDY.
The first single from the album, NEW EPIDEMIC, out on 7th May, has picked up airplay on 6Music (Bruce Dickinson), Total Rock Radio, Kerrang! Radio ("Ones to Watch" - Emma Scott) and with continued support from Xfm (John Kennedy, Ian Camfield, Steve Harris) the eagerly awaited release of Metro Riots' debut album heralds a new and tighter rock sound for the band. Articles in Dazed & Confused online as well as coverage in all the monthlies and the NME along with further support from The Sun ("New Epidemic – Full-on attitude from these noisy messy London punks!") will see a broader awareness build over the coming months.
With over a year's worth of solid touring behind them supporting such luminaries as Dirty Pretty Things, The Charlatans and Juliette & The Licks, Metro Riots have become a formidable live act. Headline tours in the summer and autumn last year culminated in a sold out show at London's historic 100 Club and the album release sees Metro Riots loyal fanbase (over 2,000 names on a dedicated & serviced mailing list / huge myspace community) finally being rewarded for their fervent support with the record they desire.
The band have been in their favourite place (on the road) throughout March & April supporting Fortune Drive and, once gain, The Licks in Europe & the UK, and head out on their own tour for the rest of May with further supports pencilled for June & July.
Xfm's John Kennedy has been giving the single regular spins since he picked up a copy at Metro Riots show at SXSW in March and the boys have recorded a session for the man which will be played throughout the week of release as the featured "album of the week". TV is being serviced with the NEW EPIDEMIC video from award winning director Giorgio Testi (Dirty Pretty Things, The Good The Bad & The Queen, etc). Expect a follow up single in August.
