Think John Martyn meeting a young Van Morrison and you're in the Blue Rose Code alt-folk sound- space which has a growing legion of fans that includes James Yorkston, Lou Rhodes, James Yuill (who features remixing a track here).
Formed in Edinburgh, now based in London, Blue Rose Code have honed their songwriting talents on the folk circuit, often playing at the excellent Electroacoustic Club and the Union Chappell, as well as many other folk venues in the UK.
'Love' singer Ross Wilson searching for the 'one', declaring his wants to fall in love. Complete with accordion, strings and Blue Rose Codes' trademark acoustic guitars and harmonies, it shouldn't be long before this track helps his case.
'Whitechapel,' is a perfectly-measured slice of pastoral folk, infused as much with the buzz of their former east London neighbourhood as with the sea and silence of the Isle of Lewis, where the band infrequently retire to write in peaceful isolation.
