Gallipoli [3:38]
Floral Image are a psychedelic pop band from the third-eye of Norwich, UK. Formed in 2019, their sound is the reincarnation of the summer sun, spun into a perpetual party twilight. They harness the noise and drive of early 70's psychedelic titans Hawkwind - with a bright helping of neo-psych acts such as King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard and Tame Impala - whilst still incorporating an acid house groove underneath their bright and luscious melodies.
The band's early demos were championed on BBC Introducing by both Huw Stephens and Jamz Supernova, featuring on the 2020 'Ones To Watch Show' alongside Dry Cleaning and Porridge Radio. Following the release of their first singles including 'Dial In' and 'Why I Leave', they have sold out shows across the country, including supporting Triptides, Flamingods and Flying Moon In Space, where their live show has proven to spiral audiences into trancelike, grooving hedonism.
Join them in the neverending solstice. Forever.
Floral Image have lined up the 2nd single release from the band's forthcoming debut EP - due this spring.
Gallipoli is their most chaotic tune yet; full of ferocious hooks and racing krautrock rhythms, the track thrives off the kinetic pandemonium of its performers and anti-imperialist message. Imagine a particularly disgruntled late 60's Doors recording in a down-trodden garage somewhere in Berlin, and you'll find something close to the sound of this raucous record.
Floral Image are on tour following the release of their debut 'So Synthesised' EP in Manchester (2nd May, The Peer Hat), Leeds (3rd May, Oporto), Glasgow (4th May, Broadcast), London (5th May, The Shacklewell Arms), Norwich (6th May, Norwich Arts Centre) & Paris (13th May, Supersonic).
The single for Gallipoli releases 17th February 2023, with Floral Image's EP, So Synthesised, arriving Spring 2023.
