Cate Le Bon has spent the last year clocking up quite an impressive musical C.V. She has already supported Gruff Rhys on his UK tour, played Glastonbury, Latitude and The Green Man festival and featured as a guest vocalist on Neon Neon's single 'I Lust You'. She has just returned from playing with the band in South by Southwest in Texas and will be playing in the Sonar Festival in Barcelona in June.
Her first official release comes in the form of a Welsh E.P that will be out on Cardiff's cool micro label Peski Records. 'Edrych yn Llygaid Ceffyl Benthyg'('Looking a Gift Horse in the Mouth') is a beautifully shonky musical journey from start to finish, strung together by Cate Le Bon's haunting voice and her unique vocal melodies. It also features guest vocalists Euros Childs and Mini from Texas Radio Band. It is so musically rich and bonkers that the language in which Cate sings becomes irrelevant. Choosing to play most of the core instruments herself gives this E.P a charm and quirk that is rare.
