Biog

Formed in November 1979 The Trudy wasted no time in making zero impact with their self-released 1980 split album 'Volcano Fo Lé Ferret'.
Several more under the radar releases followed until The Trudy finally got some traction with their 1989 single 'Countdown To Love'. This was followed by 'Living on a Moon', produced by Phil Vinall (Placebo, Elastica, Auteurs), 'Destination Love' and a Radio 1 session.

Their second album 'Tune-In To The Trudy Love-Ray!' was released in 1991. After a brief (well, 10 year) hiatus, with each member working on various solo, T.V. and radio projects, the band started recording new material in 2006. Three well-received singles followed ('Oh!', 'Lost Summer of Love' and '3 Minutes 4U') attracting a new wave of fans. A Japanese compilation album 'The Adventures! The Suspense!' was released in 2009.

In 2010 The Trudy were included on 'Leader of The Starry Skies', a tribute album featuring the music of Tim Smith. The Trudy's version of Cardiacs 'Day is Gone' achieved many plays on podcasts and local radio plus several plays on BBC 6 Music. In 2012 The Trudy received great reviews for their singles 'Dirt Cheap Melody' and 'Bucolics Anonymous' and these we included on their acclaimed third album 'Always Never Beautiful Forever', which was released in 2016. The album was skilfully overseen by producers Greg Walsh (Kate Bush, Heaven 17, Howard Devoto) and Peter Walsh (Pulp, Scott Walker, Peter Gabriel, Simple Minds).

Now just 5 years later, and again working with Greg Walsh, The Trudy present their latest song 'Dear Sancho'. They still haven't got the message that they aren't going to make it and quite what they were thinking of by recording such a great song at this point in their career is anyone's guess: Bexx Bissell, personal advisor to The Trudy, February 2021
