Pre-dating Shame, Fontaines DC, The Murder Capital and the current wave of post-punk, Limerick's brooding quartet, SLOW RIOT's early recordings immediately caught the ear of tastemakers both in Ireland and the UK. Drowned In Sound, The Line Of Best Fit, Q Magazine, Hot Press and The Irish Times citing them for big things, whilst single 'Trophy Wife' earned the band plaudits from Shaun Keaveny on the then 6Music Breakfast Show, Paul McLoone at Today FM ("my new favourite Irish band"), John Richards' 'Song Of The Day' at KEXP and playlisted at RadioX. Having played shows with Mission Of Burma, Preoccupations, The Twilight Sad, whenyoung, and festivals such as Electric Picnic & Other Voices, the band disbanded despite having finished recording on their debut full length album - G.A.D. The album will now, finally, receive a posthumous release in November 2019.
