1. Heat Exchange
2. It’s Fire We Crave the Most (Acoustic Version)
The Electric Cinema capture images of classic British summer days through a thoroughly modern filter. They’re one of those great bands that tell stories with their music, with every track conjuring up images so vivid that you can sense the narrative behind them.
Comprising of old friends and brother and sister, the four members (Martin, James, Dan and Rebecca) make up one of the most exciting prospects for innovative music around at the moment.
Distilling the best elements of the Flaming Lips, The Sleepy Jackson and Sparklehorse, they have created a dreamy landscape that's entirely their own. Debut single ‘Heat Exchange’ released on 7th August, mixes squelchy bass with a singalong chorus that deserves to be heard time and time again - and you imagine they'd rather you heard it on the wireless than on MTV.
The Electric Cinema are collaborating with 12 young filmmakers to bring you a series of shorts set to their music. It’s an exciting concept and will be hosted weekly on the band’s myspace site from August. It stems from their fascination with the happy accidents that occur when you put music and film together.
