Synopsis
RISE OF THE FOOTSOLDIER charts the rapid rise of Carlton Leach, from feared football hooligan to him becoming a member of one of the country's most notorious crime syndicates. Following his life over the course of three decades, the film follows Leach's career from soccer thug, through a stint as a doorman and his involvement in the early rave scene, right through to his nadir as an integral part of a gang that ruled London and Essex during the late 80s and early 90s and would culminate in the infamous shotgun deaths of three of the firm's members in Rettendon.
Overview
TheRiverMediaGroup announces the release of the score soundtrack album for the 'Rise of the Footsoldier' composed by Sandy McLelland and Ross Cullum. The third film by BAFTA nominated Julian Gilbey
'Rise of the Footsoldier' follows 'Rollin’ With the Nines’, which won 'Best UK Newcomer' at the Raindance film festival and marked the first collaboration between Gilbey and Sandy Mclelland and Ross Cullum.
The powerful and dramatic 'Rise of the Footsoldier' score features orchestral and contemporary music elements combining modern minimalist threads with a dark disturbing symphonic core. Described by the director as another character in the film, the score by turn underpins and counterpoints the dark and sombre themes of the movie’s epic subject matter.
