2. Make It Right
Leon Jean-Marie is a 24-year-old from far East London who mixes up Prince, Beck, Bill Withers, Nirvana and many more besides. A vocalist, producer and multi-instrumentalist who, having dreamt up his tunes in his home studio, is now ready to take his brainload of brilliant music out on the road.
Catching the ear of Mika, star pupil in the class of 2007, is just another in a series of hook-ups with some of music's most exciting talents, something that seems to come so naturally to Leon Jean-Marie. Ever since his early demos caught the ears of, the now very much in demand, producer Mark Ronson over a year ago, Leon has had some of the smartest producer collaborators in the world queuing up to work with him - and this is before he had signed a record deal. (Leon Jean Marie has now been signed to Island Records and is currently working on his debut album with Mark Ronson among others)
Leon Jean-Marie's debut single is the limited seven-inch ‘Scratch’/’Make It Right’ - two slabs of urgent future-funk, motoring beats, twanging riffs and captivating vocals.
